About

Built to answer one question.

“When can you start?” is the question every freelancer answers badly. Freshlance exists because guessing at it costs money.

Ask a freelancer when they are next free and you will usually get a shrug and a guess. The guess is either too optimistic, which means working weekends, or too cautious, which means turning down work you could have taken. Both are expensive.

The information needed to answer properly already exists: how many hours are left on each active project, and how many hours you actually bill in a day. It just lives in a spreadsheet that is three weeks stale, or in someone's head.

So Freshlance makes that calculation the centre of the product rather than a report you have to go and generate. The next available date sits in the sidebar on every screen and recalculates on every render. It is never stored, which means it can never be out of date.

Everything else follows from it. If you know your capacity, clients can book against it. If clients can book, they need a portal. If they have a portal, they can approve scope changes and pay invoices there. The features are not a checklist; they are consequences of the first decision.

Principles
  • One seat, one price. A team of one should never pay for two.
  • A free tier that is useful, not a countdown to a paywall.
  • Your data exports to CSV at any time, including after cancellation.
  • Colour means status, never decoration.
  • Plan limits gate growth, never access to what you already have.
  • No avatars, no activity feeds, no gamification.
