Question 1

How long does setup take?

Accepted Answer

Freshlance is invite-only while we are in early access. Request an invite from the homepage and we will email you when yours is ready; setting the workspace up afterwards takes minutes.

Question 2

Do I need a credit card?

Accepted Answer

No. The free plan needs no card and has no time limit.

Question 3

Can I import from another tool?

Accepted Answer

Not yet as a one-click import. Everything exports to CSV, and clients and projects are quick to add by hand. Tell us what you are moving from and we will prioritise accordingly.

Question 4

How is the next available date calculated?

Accepted Answer

Remaining hours on all active projects, divided by your configured daily billing hours, then walked forward across the calendar skipping non-working days and holidays. It is never stored, so it can never be stale.

Question 5

What if a project has no hour estimate?

Accepted Answer

It does not block your capacity. Only projects with estimated hours contribute to the calculation.

Question 6

Can I mark time off?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Click any day on the capacity calendar to block it. The next available date shifts accordingly.

Question 7

Do my clients need an account?

Accepted Answer

No, and that is deliberate. Each client gets an opaque link. Knowing the URL is the credential. You can add a password if the content is sensitive, and it is enforced server-side.

Question 8

Can a client see my other clients?

Accepted Answer

No. The API returns only that one client's slice, with your rates, private notes and internal fields stripped before it leaves the server.

Question 9

Can I use my own domain?

Accepted Answer

On Pro and Agency, yes. The portal is white-label with your branding.

Question 10

Do you take a percentage of my invoices?

Accepted Answer

No. Payments go through your own Stripe account, straight to you.

Question 11

Which currencies are supported?

Accepted Answer

Currency is set per client and overridable per invoice. Each invoice stores the exchange rate it was issued at, so editing today's rates never rewrites past reports.

Question 12

How does the tax estimate work?

Accepted Answer

It sets aside a configurable percentage of income as an estimate. It is informational only and is not tax advice or bookkeeping.

Question 13

What happens if I exceed my plan limits?

Accepted Answer

Limits gate growth, not existing data. A workspace over its limit stays fully editable and can shrink; it just cannot add more until it is back under.

Question 14

How do I export my data?

Accepted Answer

Settings → Data has a full CSV export of every table. Available at any time, including after cancellation.

Question 15

How do I delete my account?

Accepted Answer

Settings → Security. Deletion removes your workspace data. Export first if you want a copy.
